Connected Initiatives
Part of a European bio‑based effort
Bio4PURConti is funded by the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking, the CBE JU. The CBE JU is a 2 billion euro partnership between the European Union and the Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC), running under Horizon Europe. It funds projects that turn biomass and organic waste into bio-based products, with sustainability built into how it works. Bio4PURConti is one project in a large and growing portfolio.
Why we cluster
No single project solves the move to bio-based industry on its own.
By sharing methods, results and lessons with related projects, Bio4PURConti can avoid repeating work, compare notes on common problems and reach a wider audience together. Cooperation also helps good results travel further, towards industry, policy and the next round of research.
CBE JU Family (Coming soon)
PROMOFER
Improves fermentation and downstream purification to make bioplastics from lignocellulosic biomass and food industry waste. Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant, a Bio4PURConti partner, is also part of PROMOFER.

GoodByO
Develops a next generation biorefinery that turns food waste, biogenic CO2 and process wastewater into bio-based products.
Sister Projects (Coming Soon)
ROBUSTOO
Horizon 2020.
Worked on cost effective and robust continuous biotech processes for bio-based production, a close match to the continuous theme at the heart of Bio4PURConti.
Zest and CirculH
Two further bio-based projects named in our work plan as cooperation candidates.
Their focus and contact points will be confirmed as the clustering work develops.
